Software to read DVD's on CD-ROM

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone out there could tell me if there is any software that I can get to read DVD's with a CD-ROM drive. Or is there any other way to do this without having to go buy a DVD-ROM.

nope not possible as a normal cd rom drive cannot read the data made by a dvd burner

Sounds like a claim usually associated with the SPAM to try to sell you some software that's usually only a collection of freeware, trialware etc., bound together with a half-baked frontend.

And whatever they claim, reading a DVD in a CD-ROM drive is impossible for the optical resolution of the CD-ROM read head.

If you can "copy a DVD without a DVD WRITER!" - then they mean converting it to a smaller format - eg. VCD, SVCD or Divx. SVCD and VCD will PLAY in most DVD players, but will not be full DVD quality or features.
