it takes bestpart of 5 minutes to shutdown.
I have read somewhere that a registry entry makes slowdown unnecesarily slow. Does anybody know what it is and could you tell me please.
Thanks alot

Hi :)

Have U ever used a prog or util that clears the pagefile on shutdown? , that can often be the cause of slow shutdown, if not then there might be a prog or service that is having trouble shuttin down when U tell XP to shutdown :)

I would first check the event log for error reports and then make a search on google for the errors event ids.
The regentries you mention are probably the max timeout values for apps and services and\or the unload dlls directly tweak.
I use a tweaker for messing about with this
Usually i would leave these settings alone though(except for unload dlls directly) and let the os do its thing.
