Can anyone help me understand what the following is about: I found a rar-file named sp1_pid. It contained three files named pidgen.dll, dpcdll, and a readme text doc. The read me file says the following -
Slipstream files for SP1 and XP1 Corp
-------------------------------------
1. Perform a normal slipstream update with your Corp/DevilsOwn XP
2. Copy these two files into your \I386 directory and overwrite the existing files.
3. Burn CD!
I have read the different tutorial on slipstreaming but have not found if in fact this process is needed. I did slipstream according to two different tutorials and found the pidgen.dll file to be the same in the two slipstreamed versions. They are different in size than the original devilsown xp by 4or 5 kbs. When I replaced them with the onces included in the sp1_pid rarfile, they again changed in size by 3 or 4 kbs. Anyone know what this is about and also is it needed? Just trying to get educated. Appreciate any help. Thanks
