shutdown progs in winxp

i want to shutdown one of my programs that wont end by
task manager
i search for a way to end that program like kill command on linux

?? that is very odd. What exactly is the program?
You can try shutting it down by going to the admin services:
just type gpedit.msc (start button> run)
also
services.msc

there was another one which is escaping my mind right now.
Am sure someone else will post it, but good luck anyways.

Try using the kill command.
Start > run > cmd then type kill /? for options ( pid etc...)
If this doesnt work then unfortunately you will have to accept the shortcomings of microsux world ( i prefer linux myself but software dictates otherwise) !!!

search the net for a util called "ENDITALL" this allows you to end tasks and processes as you require also protect the ones u dont want to end

I'm with VIPER_1069 on this one Enditall is a simple and effective proggie. It's Freeware offered by PC Magazine. Many sites out there still offer version 1...so goto the following link for version 2. And yes it works fine for WinXP (even though its not mentioned).
