Hey,

i was just going to use chickenmans tute and i noticed that the avi file im going to encode has a data rate of 107kb/s...well it advises u not to convert an avi if it has a data rate less than 110 kb/s...

why does it have to be higher than 110 kb/s? and would my avi that is 107 kb/s ok to encode?

Please answer my questions...thanks
Cheers

107kb/s or 107kB/s? b = bit, B=Byte. 107kb/s is well low and would have to look like crap.

107*8=856kb/s which depending on the res is plenty of bits if the source is compresable and you know what you are doing.

That said the original bitrate doesn't really matter. I say if you want to convert it, go for it. Only you can judge if it is worth while or not.

Hmm, just encoded or rather tried to encode something at 107kb/s. Windows however reports it as 12.5Kb/s so I guess windows is getting b and B mixed up.

856kb/s, as I said depending on various factors should be fine.
