Second monitor

Hi,

I found an old 15 inches monitor and I'd like to make it usefull.

I have a laptop with an nVidia GeForce4 4200 (64 Mb, AGP 4x) witch in the display settings shows possibilities for 2 monitor (i think).

How can I set this? What I've tryed just duplicate the screen... I'd like to have 2 independant screens with different resolution (laptop screen is 16:10 and 15" is 4:3)

Not sure if it will be set up for independent display - if it can be, then you'll need to enable and use NView to control it.

Laptops often do things differently, so unless you CAN identify the Monitor as the second screen in Nvidia display properties, Nview isn't going to help.

Ok I found how to

In Display properties then Parameters. Select the 2nd monitor and enable "Extand desktop to this monitor". Set the display properties for the monitor and voila
