Second Hard Drive???

Any advice of good brand for RAID card

Thanks Shadey. From the net I got all the information about RAID and it's many different possibilities. I did only need to find out what kind of hardware it was. Could not find that "missing link" anywhere. And to ask the dealers here in Thailand, - I'm better of asking my dog.

Got it all, and I go for the RAID. Any advice on a good brand? Using OS ME, PIII 833, 512 SDRAM.

can't suggest any brands - as im not sure who are better manufacturers -

Like internal pci modems, raid controllers are alike. . . (they are either software or hardware based)

software based controllers (dont have onboard processors requires the PC's CPU processing power) are cheaper that the hardware based controllers (which do have its own on borad processor), they can be very expensive, you'll have to decde which on how much you have to spend. Ask or check reviews - so you dont go buying a software based one thinking its hardware based.

a good one

A good raid controller is the promise line of controllers I've found them to be one of the most compatable with most chipsets and your motherboards with onboard controllers. It's a realy good product for the dollar
