REQ: A Primer on How to Configure a Rules-based Soft Firewall

Yes, I confess. I worked a year in IT, but I'm still clueless about ports (it's like being an Eng Lit doctoral student and confessing you've never read Hamlet).

I'm fooling around with Visnetic firewall which seems fine, but I'm incapable of attempting to improve its protection. If anyone has any other firewall recommendations for rules-based programs I'd be glad to hear 'em. Cheers.

I did try Visnetic recently, but i thought it was statefull inspection firewall, had nothing but hassle trying to get Quake3 & all seeing eye to work with it, so i gave up & went back to Kerio version 2.15, they dont have it on the site now, but im sure U can find it floating about somewhere, never had a prob with that version, version 4x, now that a different matter, nothing but probs & crashes & the firewall deciding it was gonna disable itself, just want U want when U surf the net :(

Others will know much more than me & will help U out m8 :)

BaNzI :D
