REQ:A copy prog.

Well I need your help..
I want to back-up a floppy-disk which has a protection,it's a cd-key for a dos-programm that we use at work. The floppy disk is been used by people everyday and if it corrupts (you know how easily floppy disks are being destroyed...) then we have to buy another one which costs a lot of money.
So is there a programm that can make raw copies???
Don't mind if it's freeware or not....
Please...Help..

The tools name is floppy disk analyser but a powerfull russian copy tool is included.

You must use it from pure dos !!!

I don´t know your job but if you are using Simatic S5/S7 for programming of industrial plc then this tool might be handy too.;)

Well downloaded it and every time I try to install it or run it from DOS is stucks...
Any other programm?

I was using Floppy Disk Analyzer 6.1 with great results... it's an old (1994) program.
Close all explorer windows as well as your antivirus when doing a floppy copy under Windows... use just the OS shell.

Do mind if it's not freeware? as you may well have to pay for this sort of program.
Try the prog attached, not got a protected floppy so I can't test it.
BTW is this a Mac at work?

Perhaps you can try another computer.

It worked fine with an old pentium 200.

btw. I had the same problem wit a newer laptop.

It works at my putter at home.Checked it now it's running XP at work the putters are running win98se..Okay I will check it tomorrow..
Thanx again guys;)

Some do NOT run well on modern PC's - I have an original "copy II PC" (no option card though) and it apparently has trouble running on anything faster than a 486 - maybe even less.

And GOOGLE is a search engine - probably the most powerful.

PS. You described the very reason why key-disk protection went out of favour.
What program is it, as I'd advise looking for a replacement - what if they go out of business?

I know google everyone does!Just trying to joke..Well yes I've found out that it doesn't works on some computers..It's a programm that it takes care of the logistics. It's from a company that exists here..Well I might have a chance copying that disk cause if it's destroyed...We have to pay:mad:

Good grief! - a friend of mine has a knitting machine program with a similar protection, and the author is somewhat apologetic about having to use such measures, and very helpful in providing re-authentication by phone or disk replacement.

A nominal fee for replacement, I would presume - unless they are real sharks.

What will they do when floppy-less PC's are common?
