Try #1 Sound Recorder-It`s NOT illegal,it all depends on what you do with it.Grabs anything-audio,video,etc.The free downloadable demo only records the first 30 seconds.Buy it for the great full version...As always, use at your own risk...;)
(Sorry-I`m NOT giving you the site address-find it yourself...) :) :)

I read that nettransport can do that......But good solution..even better-me thinking is total recorder.......Its a nice virtual driver which can record line in from a sound card too......Main purpose of course is to record any sound which goes thru sound card..Its a totally legal software..Check it out at http://www.highcriteria.com/ Also..It will automatically record in a format of your choice..like wavmp3,ogg

The OTHER wavedata grabber - but unless the quality (on internet stream??) justifies it - I'd simply set the sound mixer to loopback record from WAVE/MP3 or mixed output - nothing else to buy, as the best either of them offer as a trial is a VERY limited duration.

Sure, loopback recording is Digital-Analog-Digital, but since its already passed through a lossy codec, it can't do much more harm!
