reading dvd problem

dvd burner reading some disks but not others, then program reads not responding . then nothing works

You're going to have to give us more info than that. What brand of disks? Which program are you using that stops responding? Then nothing works - meaning? Programs? The OS?

im trying to read grand turismo 3 + harry potter and the chamber of secrets , playstation 2 games. after inserting disk, disk icon on computer flashes. i then enter my computer in programs menu. after opening menu i click on dvd drive, which then program not responding comes up. after that anthing i click on doesnt work, then i have to reboot my computer . im currently running windows xp and use nero burning

you can't backup copy protected games and movies by simple copying the content as handling them equal to usual data discs; you can't do this with Nero;

As already asked, are the problematic discs original and pressed or already burned?
