Random Freezing

hi when playing most games on a friends PC, after a random period of time the game screen will freeze or turn black and the only way to mend it is to reset as the pc is unresponsive. This has happened on lots of games but doesn't happen on all e.g halo is fine. I have checked the graphics card is seated properly and have all updated drivers so what could it be.

Do U have the right Direct version for the games U are running?, the latest version is 9.0b i think, also is the card overclocked?

Yes

Yes i have that directx and i haven't overclocked the card. I have a good level of computing knowledge and i have been through everything i could think of.

did u apply any patches 2 the games?

The card is geforce mx440, athlon xp2000 256mb ram. No patches have been applied.

wouldn't it then occur in all games?
Can run powerful halo for hours and nothing goes wrong

could also be some of the drivers files are incompatible

look for nasty file remover or detonator destroyers

think you can get them from guru3d.com
