Question about NERO

Anyone knows how to record in Nero at 6X speed. Only shows me 2X, 4X, 8X,....Can I record in the speed desire it?. Thanks.

No

At least, I think the answer is no. Nero will check the speed compatibilities of the blank cd-r and provide several recommended speeds.

Example: For my 16x CD burner I can insert a 32x blank cd-r and Nero will provide the following to choose from: 4x, 8x, 12x, 16x.

However, you can download Burnatonce and choose your desired burning speed, including the ever decreasing option of burning at 1x or 2x (of course, you cannot exceed the blank cd-r's max speed). Burnatonce is a free program, so if you try it out and keep it, please stop by the forum and tell the developer, jamie, thanks for his hard work.

I know for 99% for sure that nero can't burn at 6x speed.

But the tool Wedge mentioned it works great (thx wedge).

Good luck

Not 100% sure

banzibaby,

Honestly, I do not know. I've been keeping up with your posts so I know you are having major problems with 5.5.10.0

I use version 5.5.9.0 with Windows XP Home for burning data without problems, but even with this version, Nero has idientified a few bugs. However, I would dare say this is presently the best version for XP users.

If you are running Windows 98 (and I think you are, correct?), I would recommend a pre 5.5 version. People who have used Nero long before I ever knew about it say that it was very reliable until the release of 5.5, which is the official release with XP compatiblilty.

If I were you I would check out
CDRLabs Forum and CDFreaks Forum. CDRLabs has a section devoted to Ahead software. I would try doing searches there using your drive name and Nero. At CDFreaks check out the Burning Software Forum section. Also, feel free to ask questions at either forum in case a search doesn't help.

With a little more patience, somebody at any of these forums might be able to help.

Cheers folks.Promt & concise info as ever.Im pretty sure my system can write at 48x as it has before, but some cd's start playin in cdplayer???& others just lock the drive:(Why learn from other sites when u can learn from the best

Any other advice greatfully accepted.Keep up the good work &hope rastabt beats the record 4 the most posts:)Cheers

No, there shouldn't be a problem with Nero and InCD being installed together. If you mix product lines then it's a different story, i.e., having DirectCD and Nero installed together, or InCD with Roxio ECDC.

I am having a problem with Nero, also. Sometimes the drop-down box for choosing the write speed is grayed out and locked to 4x. When this happens I have to close Nero, eject and re-insert the blank cd-r, then restart Nero, and only then can I see all the available write speeds to choose from. Are you having this same problem?

I might be able to solve this if I upgrade the firmware because TDK has an upgrade at their site.

Nope Wedge not had that prob. This is on a fresh install of win98se with only basic apps & the nero & inCd bugware:)
iIm sure the last time nero stopped workin was cause i installed WMP9(final)& think the roxio cd burnin plugin screwed nero up(It seems 2 install the same engine files in2 windows\system\iosubsys.But this time have stayed away from Micro****e:) & only things on r nort utils 2002 & Nav2002

Any more help appreciated
nero5.5.9.0
InCD says its 3.5.19.2 but im sure the ver i got was 3.5.20.0b
????:)

Yep Roadworker InCd is usually on system as i never have a prob with it.So nero is installed after InCd(Unless installin 4 first time then its nero then InCD.Any help?

My guess is that it occupies your drive in a sort of way....most packetwriting stuff is monitoring software, which starts running when booting up your system.......maybe installing Nero before InCd would've been better...

Cheers.Have tried that as well as disabling inCd from loading at startup, but when i put in cdrw im able 2 drag & drop. This whole thing started because i had data on cdrw & needed 2 put it on cdr so i can erase cdrw.Copied First disc 2 h(just after defrag with network, firewall & antivirus disabled.Nero 5.5.10.7b(or whatever):)copied it from hd to cdr at 48x.Ejected disc & reinserted 2 check, everythin ok.Closes nero & deletes data from hd.Copies 2nd cdrw 2 hd.Started up nero, done exactly the same(iso, finalize disc,write48x,disc at once, no multi sess)It failed, so itry again at lower speed32x, say disc created sucess, close nero & reinsert disc & nothin apart from lockin the drive, drive light on.Also some of the cdrs are still blank even though it can fail anywhere in the burn process. The bundled version of nero i had 2 start with was 5.5.8.? with inCD.My drive has justlink & justspeed, but my bundled ver dont give me justspeed option.Only time i have had that option was when i installed the ver i have now(5.5.9.0)The data on cdrw was virus free.I never had this amount of touble with ecd4, but nero better for makin discs(alegeddly:)The discs im usin r phillips &memorex 48xrated

Any more U folks can give me will be gratefully accepted.Keep up the good work!!

This is a rather drastic option, but if you know what you're doing, you can try this:

Close Incd,uninstall it,uninstall Nero,remove the Nero/Ahead folder @ your program files....
Then use the "search" function, with advanced options checked,to search for every Nero,Incd or Ahead file on your system and remove them......use every combination of lowercase or capitals for searching the filenames

then start regedit and do the same:search for Nero, nero,Ahead, ahead,InCd and every name of the program you can think of,and remove the strings....
Reboot, install your bundled version WITHOUT InCd,reboot again and update with the latest Nero version (still without having InCd installed!)and try again if it works properly now....

Can always give it a try, but am unsure as have read here that latest version isnt all that good.Dont get me wrong i like nero because of its options.(i have even been known 2 use neroxpress just 4 data cds):)Always gut nero or any cdr app from system if it causes trouble includin registry, but dont know if nero like adaptec puts in a big huge list of supported recorders.Cant remember where this is?Basicaly im gettin fed up with havin 2 install/reinstall just 2 burn cd.I got a box of 10cdrs(memorex)on friday.Today i have 2 blanks left, 2 burnt cds, a pile of coasters from a burnproof drive & less hair than when i started :)

Ps Duracell said somethin about usin bundled serial 2 unlock new version 2 update a "crippled driver for u cdrw"This isnt a warez question, can i not do that instead of bundle install reboot, new install reboot incd install

Any Further help Apprec
