question about ms office xp limitation

is it possible to install ms office xp on more than 1 computer or u can only use it once?

i bought a legal copy of office xp pro last year and installed it on 1 computer; now when i try to install it on a new computer, i get this message after i key in the serial (pic attached); i m not sure what to do.

You can install Office on more than one PC but legally you may not be able to.

But you have the "Update" version of Office XP (thats what the error message above is saying), not the full version. It can only UPDATE an existing older version of Office and some other competitors products.

and i think only version you can use xp upgrade on is office 2000 i could be wrong i had same kind of problem

had office 97 and it would not upgrade but put 2000 on and no problem

Don't know about that version office, but sometimes you can put in your original CD of the previous version as the qualifying product. Again, however, you are legally only able to load on 1 machine.
