Hi!

I recently bought a computer with a LTC-4816H combo. It was all fine until I decided to burn something using Easy CD Creator. The program produced an error at 3% during burning and from that moment on, the drive refused to read any CDs. Now it says that all CDs are 0 bytes (even when there's nothing loaded in it).

I already uninstalled EZ CD Creator and upgraded the firmware of my unit to the latest release (I think), but the problem still persists. I'm running Windows XP Pro, but I don't know much about the model and make of my hardware. Any ideas/suggestions are kindly appreciated.

Thanks!

What ASPI version? i hope you installed v4.6 (ForceASPI 1.7) and not v4.7;
and i hope you uninstalled Roxio's DirectCD (packet writing software) too;

another option to fix your problem could be Nero's RegistryChecker;
take a look at this thread: http://www.dvdrbase.com/showthread.php?t=34107&highlight=registrychecker
Thanks for your reply Duracell. Actually I re-posted this in the troubleshooting forum due to the lack of answers:

I installed ASPI 4.6 and there are no traces of Roxio's DirectCD. Just one more question, if the problem is software-related, can it be fixed if re-format my C:\ drive and re-install WinXP?

Do as Duracell recommends. This should get you up and running.

EZCD Cremator is notorious for leaving many pieces of itself behind that give you a headache. IMHO, this is done on purpose so that makes you give up on the new soft and go back to EZCD. When you reinstall EZCD... suddenly it all works again. :rolleyes:

Most likely YES, but try less painful solutions first...
