Have you installed a firewall lately? It could be this. Firewalls now have some privacy settings, witch will block popup, ads, cookies.. At least ZoneAlarm and Kerio has those options...

Maybe a program you installed just enabled XP's built in firewall? It sucks by the way.

I once had some problems after visiting http://www.grc.com and downloading those freeware... I couldn't share anything on my network, and found some weeks later what whas the problem...
Try unistalling something you just installed...

What browser your using? Try with an alternative; If youre using IE, try Firebird (good time to switch :) ) or Opera. Both are IE independent so if the problem is with IE, you shouldn't have the prob with Opera or Firebird, and both are really great peices of software!
http://www.opera.com
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firebird/

hope it could help...

If you are using a broadband connection (pppoe based or else) you might consider changing your modem drivers... Windows ones are crap- in fact killing most firewalls out.

well lol this one was my fault. I had it set up to deny 3rd party cookies lol. After allowing 3rd party cookies it went finally.
