Problems with Nero

Hi. I have achieved som problems with Nero and also with other burning soft (CloneCD sometimes). When I use Erase RW and select Full erase, Nero is erasing but when it should finish, it reports This is not RW, it cant be erased. Quick erase works fine. But when I want to burn anything Nero shows burning dialog and then it says Can't cache files - burning failed.
When I restart my comp, I usually can burn one or two CD's and then that problem reappears.
With CloneCD it happened too. It burns line-in and when burning track, it fail.
Can anybody help me?
My comp is:
GigaByte 7VAX1394 MoBo
Athlon XP 1800+
one gig of RAM 333MHz CL2
TEAC CDW540E burner
WD400BB hard drive

I have had this happen when trying to erase some very old CD-RW's (with Nero or RecordNow Max). Turns out that my newer CDRW drive won't spin "slow" enough to be compatible with my old CD-RWs. Answer, junk the old discs.

The problem is that I dont have any old discs. It is Verbatim 700MB 10x and Samsung 700MB 10x. And I dont want to junk them if they are working anywhere else.
