Problems with Msn Messenger (who would have guessed?)

Hey,

Im having a few troubles using msn messenger.. namley not being able to sign in.

Even though im connected to the internet it always prompts me with...

"We were unable to sign you into .NET Messenger Service, possibly because of a problem with the service or your internet connection. Please make sure you are connected to the internet. 0x81000301"

Can someone please help me.

Is this something which has just started?
Have you a firewall installed if so you may have block part of its service so check your firewall.
You can also delete your cookies for MSN and hotmail to see if this helps..
But I would check 1st on their homepage to see if there are any maintenance work going on with the site.

Hi, sorry i forgot about the details...

im running XP Home with 6.1 (i had 6.0 but it made me update )

No firewall cept for the windows one, and the service has been fine, ill try the cookies one when i jump on the comp next (its a friends comp).

Any more suggestions would be awesome.
