Problems when installing anything...

Hi, im not sure under which sub-forum i was meant to post under, but i am having trouble.

I cannot install anything, i always get the message

"Error while parsing command line arguments or reading setup.ini:

No such interface supported"

this is a real problem as nothing can be installed

can someone please help me with this

Possible solution...

I had the exact same problem as you, BestNzWrestler, and I only resolved it about an hour ago! I actually came across your post when I was searching for a solution myself, so I thought I'd drop back in and help you out hehehe

The error is caused by a screwed up InstallShield file. Just follow the instructions on this page:

If you can't open the link, here's a quick rundown of what you need to do:

You need to re-install the ikernel file which InstallShield uses to do the actual installation procedures. To do this, you must first delete the previous engine by doing the following:

Go to this location on your hard drive:

C:\Program Files \Common Files\InstallShield\

Delete the folder labelled "Engine" which is inside the InstallShield folder.

Download this file:

http://support.installshield.com/kb/files/Q108312/ikernelupdate.exe

Run the downloaded setup file, and reboot your computer. Hopefully, that will be the problem solved :)
