Problem with Norton AV 2002 Pro Edition Latest update !!!

After installing the NAV 2002 Pro on a brand new installation of Win XP I have not been able to get it to stabilise or stay error free.

Righ after the installation everything seems to be OK up until the dreaded symantec redirector is applied via the live update.

Almost each and every time the file called NAVOPTS.dll gets corrupted as soon as the redirector in the latest update is applied.

I have tried all possible solutions that symantec has mentioned and have not been able to get this thing to work.

I know what ever it is that screws this up has to be an is in the latest redirector patch, as I had hard;y any software instaled on the new install of XP for this error to keep coming on.

This error manifests it self as variety of ( unknown Error ) that is caused by the IE script error . . .

Either the virus definition shows the wromg date despite updating it or the auto protect gets totally screwed up and stays disabled.

Any attempted to fix any of these errors will cause the IE script error that hints the .dll file that I have mentioned ins corrupted.

The reason the redirector is important is that that it is directly responsible in scanning the email and that is most oaculiar to me.

Any suggestion to get this NAV 2002 working the way it is meant to is most certainly appreciated.

Cheers. ;)
