Yep;Those discussions come often..Even before i thought that plextor is ok ..I still think is ok..But way overpriced.....Like support and such....But even for regular cdrdrives---Like i buying my stuff at a neighbourhood compjuter store..Every time you got warranty when you buy stuff-Like since i bought my first pc..when something got broken in a warranty(happened few times)got fixed for free--Like everywhere else.........Also dvd is progreesing fast....I think is a mistake buying a cdr now....Couse all dvds can do cd now tooMaster said:
....For that premium--didnt try..But here where i live you can buy 3 average burners or two combos(cdrw+dvd reader)....Also people still taliking about plextor reliability and such.Yeah ..few models-yes ..but few were garbage.......Like i bought a first burner hp7100..Second one was ricoh 7060 6-speed--4 for cdrw(with excelent c2 working in combo with eac)..Both drives burned thousend++++++discs..I sold that hp to a friend--still working..Same as ricoh....Ricoh is even still on my pc..wth a lg4480(burner+dvd reader) and works great still ..i mean it could be better then average drives...But for that price.........Also like rw said.......your next drive schould be only dvd burner...And about relibility thing....I like reliability thing about that drive will be working probably longer then regular drives.....but all those things progreessing so fast now..that i think is bettr to buy chiper one as i would buy new one again 2-years anyway...Like i keep that ricoh couse i just feeling bad to drop it in a garbage..Couse that combo is a 48/speed......And about that premium features.....for me that gigarec feature is really great...Couse now you can put every movie as a divx(xvid) on a 1????cd...really great.....But nobody will watch that movie if he dont get that drive...And for last..if i would go with great drive...I would probably go with yamaxa--f1...I mean getting a cover on a cdr(real one)is a great thing...Simply-OUTSTANDING....
