Nero 6 is not recommended for now; it has mor bugs than the latest 5.5; also try to disable the virtual drives (Daemon Tools?); and chose a slower burning speed (eg 16x) for testing;

this is exactly the moment where the burning process fails; and this log entries are strictly related to the ASPI interface (probably disordered by incompatibly drivers);

these critical drivers (neither installed by XP nor by Nero) are still listed; so my recommanditation is still a fresh installation first with nothing beside XP and Nero 5.5;

aic78u2.sys is a Microsoft driver, which is usually activated to drive Adaptec SCSI adapters.
As for the other two, you can either enter /windows/system32/drivers folder and delete them by hand, or run the Feurio! system diagnostic utility and deactivate both of them.
