Please help can not cdrw anymore

I run windows 2000 pro sp3 i use nero 551035 as my my main cdburn software with a freecom usb2, my computer crash and couldn't boot any more for a while, i tryed to fix it using the recovery disk, which i think some changes in the registry were made, so i was able to load windows but since then i can't burn any disk, i though it was the cd burner problem, so moved it to another machine and worked perfect.
i did install again the aspi drivers, and i used fire burner but no luck, i attach the log file made by nero with the description of the error, if some could help me i would be very thankfully.

thanks

1. What other burning software do you have installed?

2. try ForceASPI 1.6 instead Adaptec's 4.71
Download: http://www.cdrbase.com/showthread.php?threadid=13922
run ForceASPI's "KillASPI" function first, then "InstASPI", reboot;

3. if it doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall Nero;

Greetings from
Duracell

Thank you for your help i tryed but no luck, also i used Firebuner and another cd burner but no luck

Might be worth running it by the forums at www.cdrinfo.com - CCampbell is from AHEAD (Nero) and is a pretty helpful guy.

If you've tried other programs as well though, it sounds like it's not a Nero issue.

Other than using the equivalent of device manager (I'm Win98SE) to delete and allow to redetect offending devices, I'm not sure what to suggest.

Gut feeling - is the USB2 drivers may have been damaged/downgraded when you had to restore.

Not sure if one of my old Win98 tricks would help (to freshen up the registry).
Create a second profile, rename the original profile.
On reboot, when it asks which profile to use, Create new (this will trigger hardware redetection, have your drivers to hand).
Then delete the other two profiles - this trick is normally useful for tidying up after a major hardware swap, as it cleans away unused device entries and redetects everything cleanly.

It MIGHT catch whatever got disrupted, and it's preferable to a complete re-install if it works.

Only other thing to try, is sp4 - another case of kill, cure or no effect.

Easy CD Creator (or is it Windows Media Player 9?- in any case the Roxio burning engine is active) Nero and Alcohol 120% in the same machine are not always the best company for a burner, and things get worse when this is an USB burner. Do you really need the Roxio program? If not, you may uninstall it.
May you also mention which peripherals you have hooked on your ST 320 controller?

Please Help.

I decided to format the HD, i start everything again, but no luck i keep having the same problem, there is no problem with cd burners or usb2 cards, because they work perfect in another Pc.

Any chance of help here please, where i should look for.

Thank you very much

You did a fresh format and after that you reinstalled all that useless Roxio crap again... (ASPI 4.7X and Creator). I strongly suspect that you don't really want to burn something at sometime.
Also why do you need having the Nero Imagedrive active+eating some resources since you have also Daemon Tools installed?

yepp, scarecrow is right;
Why didn't you install only XP and Nero to get a working burning software?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
File 'Drivers\CDR4_2K.SYS'
File 'Drivers\CDRALW2K.SYS
File 'Drivers\ASPI32.SYS
----------------------------------------------------------------------
al those drivers are not installed by XP or Nero;

http://ahead.de/en/content/c1023694368810.html#11

Dropping Nero's Winaspi32 file into the directory with it may help.

Nero also has local copies of some system files - eg. the troublesome Msvcrt.dll / Msvcirtl.dll pair.
If an incompatible version is active from somewhere else, then this may result in mismatch troubles - I've seen what that can do to other programs.

One suggestion - www.freshdevices.com - 3 useful tools for the price of a spamvertising email signup (fairs fair, they send ONE ad-loaded email each time any of the tools is updated - nothing else).
The tool you want is FRESH DIAGNOSE
Snapshot - Processes will let you see which modules (DLL) are being used by each process.
Snapshot - Modules will ley you see the details of each module, including version and where loaded from

CDR4_2K.SYS and CDRALW2K.SYS may also be installed by WMP 9... and of course they aren't any good for the puters' health if you use programs other that the two Roxio bloaters.

How can he get rid these incompatibly drivers?
Should uninstalling WMP 9 be enough?

Thanks for your reply, i recall roxio was installed when i installed windows media 9 , could be the problem ? if it is how do i uninstall roxio creater i tried to look for some way to uninstall it, but i can't find it, i will follow your advice to install the nero dll files.
i will keep you aware of my progress.

thanks again all

If i recall right there is a way there is a way 2 install medai player 9 without installin the roxio plugin, sure it was a reg hack in the mdia player setup bit, if U do a search on it U might find it:) Was a subkey that blocked the install of that component.Do a search 4 roxio cd plugin reg hack or blocker:)

BaNzI:D

this is geting very complicated, i tell you what i done:

I used registry crawler to locate registry entries and path location of files related to roxio, so i deleted the registry entries and the files. also i deleted the aspi 471 and unisntall nero.
1st i rebbot the computer then i installed nero6 the new one, i tested in simulation mode, so same thing happened,see file "log simulation without aspi 4.60".

then i installed aspi 460 and reboot the computer, and i tested again in simulation mode, and happaned again see file log simulation with aspi 4.60.

No WMP9 intalled.

i couldn't follow scarecrow advice:
