i was burning an image with my 106 when at about 60%
i got an error saying unable to write to ??????????? address
i had errors like this before with my cd burner i think its a buffer underrun

i shut down the pc and removed the media(i had to switch power off as pc froze)

when pc booted up i inserted a new blank disc...would not reconize it
tried different blank media still wouldnt reconize them
i try an orginal dvd movie wouldnt read that aswell

the problem is that it wont read or write dvds

it did however read & write cds but that now has failed aswell

even worse i cant remember were i bought the burner and have lost the reciept

could i check my credit card company for were i bought the burner
could they provide a receipt?

a stupid question i know!

Have you installed or removed any new software since the last time it was working fine?
How long ago did you buy the drive and was it online or a store? They should be able to replace the drive for you if this is faULTY. and yes your credit card company can supply details of your transaction most cases get a print out just in case.
If you have another PC to hand you could try your drive in that one to see if it's dead or not.And see if your ASPI files are ok if not you will have to replace these..

Have a look on the top of the drive and it will have a manufacturing date code on the top. If it's less than a year pioneer will have to honour the warranty.
