Pioneer A05 Media Please!

Can you give details of media that works with the A05/105 with firmware 1.00.
Just the above please as it is a very picky drive with that firmware.
Please state:
1.Media type (as much info as possible)
2.Speed you burned at.
3.What u burned....ie. movie,PS2 etc
4.If u verified the disc, please give what software u used and the results.
5. Any other info u feel is relevent!

These are the ones Ive used m8
Fws Branded 1x ps2 and movies.
Datasafe white 1x ps2
TDK 2x movie(F888ing expensive though).
Superior DVD-R 2x Gen 4 ps2 and movies.

The new 2x Datasafe are compatable and they have brought out a 4x speed disc now too along with Pioneer.

Just used bulk paq green top generation 4 2x ( reported as TDK) to copy dvd5 to dvd5.
And dvdxcopy
And dvd9 to dvd5 re author with ifoedit! :D

That list is not gospel. But a good start guide for unknown brands.
I like advice from people I know.
Then I know who to blame if its baloney! ;)

Princo --> 2x certified --> Firmware 1.00 --> Movies

Vivastar --> 1x firmware 1.00 --> Movies and Xbox Backups

Dont trust that list Pat.
Some of their recommended 105 discs do not work with FW1.00
Altho they may work with FW1.21 (just ask Bertieg.lol)

Oops, my apologies Dave.. had no idea mate. In that case, the website should do more thorough tests before they make recommendations. Any idea what date in January the new A05/105 firmware is going to be released?

Not being brave applies to me too Master - I've no intention of updating my firmware!! Wouldn't even know where to start despite being a computer user for 15yrs. The way I see it is if something works, why update it and risk killing it completely?!! :D

No risk no fun ?! lol ... tried to upgrade but it failed ... maybe I´ve to wait for a new ver... ;)

it just aborts before upgrading with an error message...

I got some 1x choice media from blankdiscshop.It was according to there website compatable with the 105 burner well my burner didnt even pick it up as blank media in fact it didnt pick it up at all.Told the shop and they checked it out and agreed with me.I have now upgraded to 1.21 firmware and it still doesnt pick it up so its going back.They have taken the 105 bit of that media now on there site.The datasafe 2x there work fine though.
