Hi everyone, I have version 1.18 for my Pioneer dvdrom .....and I have downloaded a firmware update from the Pioneer site and also tried to update with a region free version from

http://pioneerdvd.rpc1.org/#PIONEER_IDE

I also downloaded the real update from Pioneer.....
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/article/0,,2076_4257_51972,00.html

The region free version is 2.06 and the pioneer version is 2.02 , I have tried using both of their update programs.....switching the drive from Secondary master to secondary slave I have tried /n as 1,2,3 regardless.......is there something I'm not doing right?
I read the instructions through many times and I have built my computer...so I am not a daft computer user....

Anything at this point would be great, and yes, the sticker on the drive says 104s...:)

would it have to do with DMA settings or something in the BIOS? thanks for anything in any case!!!

did move it; :)

about flash problem in general:
IAA (Intel Application Accelerator) shouldn't be installed, DMA off, DVD-RW should be master at the 2. channel, slave drive should be disconnected temporary; follow exactly the recommendations written in the flashers ReadMe file;
