pdf manual need to shrink ?

i have a manual that i want to print out its in pdf format but it takes up to much paper is there a way of doing it i dont have the full acrobat programe only the one you get free plus i have an old hp690c printer, ideally if i could get it booklet size would be nice

if the document is not copy protected, then you can mark the text and copy and paste it into Word (as an example); the fully free Acrobat Reader is enough for this;

if the document is protected against text copying, then even the full Acrobat (Writer) won't help you, because 128 bit encryption with password is standard for it;

Here is a free PDF printer driver for Windows:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/
Combining it with Acrobat Reader you should be able to resize your PDF's rather easily.

The other sensible free solution is OpenOffice 1.1.2, which can output natively to .swf or .pdf, but the input cannot be .pdf, just .eps- so you should have either a postcript enabled printer @ your system (your Hewlett Crapard isn't one), or make a "fake" .eps image, which might not work very well.
