Optorite DD0401 Drive

I just got given one of these +/- DVD drives.

Anybody know anything about them? The web site isn't very informative, but does mention using Sanyo technology.

I'd be particularly interested to know if it's a re-badge of another make. I must admit I'd never heard of them before.

It didn't do that well on the ABEX test CD's, but bizarrely, managed the hardest test on the CD-Check test Disk - very few drives have reached level 5.

Why use a DVD burner for ripping?:confused: You can get a LTD-165 for $30. (us) and LTR-52327 for $29. (us) Thats the set up I have and it works great for me. :)
