ooops ontrack suite

Hello lads did a bit of a clean up with ontrack suite and now am getting this when millenium boots up

cannot import c:\windows\system\radED77B.tmp error opening the file there may be a disk or file system error

have tried restoring the backup it made but to no avail anyone got any ideas...

Well, try reinstalling WinMe over the instaled version.

I have been a proud purchaser of OnTrack for a while and LOVE the bugs where you cannot let the software do ALL the work. I use many small utilities all for DIFFERENT things.

With OnTrack you should have made an emergency bootdisk to restore the sys files! Maybe you took a file/HD/reg snapshot PRE doing the HD? Maybe you believed some business knows what they are doing?

Internet Cleanup V2 is QUITE GOOD. That and 3 others after logging off!

My last patchup was reinstalling WinMe. DELETED too many files "automatic". Only RegVac automatic is afe for me.

I have 2 BIG cases of CDs and a 3rd starting music CDs. Many international registered S/W. I do not trust ANYONE running a pgm BLIND much less deleting files!

Hiya heres update to my problem,re-installes millenium no good..
I had of course made backup files in ontrack before deletion but upon re-installing said files this did no good either....
sooo I went and found offending name in the system registry and kicked its ass out o there problemo solved....

conclusion...I think I will kick out ontrack suite also

I have FixIt 4. I like the defrag in 3 sections (by use). Registry defrag. The resistry cleaner manually is OK. THAT IS ALL.

No need to kick it all out.

You would be better off to use Fdisk to sort out your problems!!!

Well that was what I ended up using to sort out the problems OT SS created. A lot of people slag off Norton Utilities "WinDoctor" but IMHO it's by far the best to use.

The worse thing I did was BUY the Utiilities. But, some here and some there and I am satisfied. I like to click like I like to flush toilets!

As you say m8, horses for courses really. Use one bit of a prog for this another for that and so on. I've used Internet Cleanup 2 a while ago and it was good.

I use IC after EVERY surfing stunt, with a few others. But then again maybe I surf some worse sites. Advantage is it shows some pgms that might have been U/Led on you. Faber Toys is a great memory display/killer. I think I just do some abnormal surfing and need all this garbage routinely.
