NTFS for windows 98,ME

Yep, you're right. I never tried doing the bootdisks since I only installed it but how does it work. Can you just add NTFSDOS to the standard Win98 bootdisk or does it have to create it's own version of a bootdisk with the usual files that sys a: would put on the floppy?Zer Eviv said:

Kuratong, just a dumb question but what do I do with the files in the archive since I noticed there is a .tar and a gzipped file in there.
*Copy sys files (I recommend win98 sys )
type this :
format a: /s
(using Ntfspro version 4.3(updated with the updater))
*then copy Ntfspro (for a simple boot) (from the forder in which you had unzipped Ntfspro) to your floppy disk
*and the the ntfs sys from your WinNT (remember that every WinNt is diferent from others(service pack version, Win2000, NT4,WinXp))

(Easy) Make a Ntfspro disk using Ntfsboot.exe(version 4.0 or 4.1), then update the program usind the updater, then copy bootsys (win98)
and then Ntfspro(for a single boot)
for a complex do the same but while you are creating a bootdisk make a click over "Advanced" and then a click over "using DOS4G"
then (in the forder in which you had unzipped Ntfspro ) *Updated* rename Ntfsp4g to Ntfspro an put it in the fist disk

Actually what I meant was if I created like the standard Win98/ME bootdisk which also loads the CDROM drivers. Do I just put either NTFSPRO.EXE or rename NTFSP4G.EXE to NTFSPRO.EXE and copy the ntfs.sys to the same directory on the floppy and then just load those after the floppy finishes booting or just do it in autoexec.bat? Where do I find the ntfs.sys for WinXP Pro since I don't see it in C:\ or %systemroot% or %systemroot%\system32? Thanks.

Ntfsknl.exe , ntds.sys and the others that are in the single boot when you create a simple boot disk, for the complex zip this files and split them in two part using .gz??(I m not sure) or the same using the program bootdisk 4.1 and copy it to your new boot 4.3

I thought the sys files were supposed to be the MSDOS.SYS, IO.SYS and COMMAND.COM type since it's this supposed to be a MS-DOS boot disk... I guess that's where I got confused. I've never created a simple boot disk before so I'm not sure the correct approach to do it. I already have a Win98 startup disk which loads the CDROM drivers and stuff so I assume this is nothing more than a .exe driver that will require some additional files. I guess it's more simple if the bootdisk program actually worked. I'm still on FAT32 and would switch to NTFS5.1 in WinXP if I can get this to work.
