Norton Ghost 2002 & combo drives

Hi guys!
I wonder will Ghost 2002 as well as DriveImage 2002 work with combo drives (DVD+CD-RW)?

Has any of you guys already tried archiving this way?

It works since I did it on my Dell Inspiron 8200 notebook which has the Sony CRX810E 16x DVD+CDRW drive and it works with Ghost 2002 with CDR's, it didn't like CDRW's for some reason even though CDRW's worked fine inside Windows.

So you mean even if the CDRW was fully erased and formatted, it still won't work or is there a way around it?

No workaround, it has to do with the DOS device drivers. RW's must be UNFORMATTED right out of the box, or they won't work.

I normally use CDRW to make Ghost images, HP or Sony brands, 4x max. (slow but safe).

I erase these CDRW in RecordNow Max, Cdmate or InstantCD+DVD and Ghost work very well with these erased CDRW.

Why do you need special unformat in CDRW for Ghost ?
Could you explain me what's UNFORMATTED right out of the box?

Interesting. Is there a way to unformat a RW though after they've been formatting since it seems like this would be defeating the purpose of RW's in the first place as you can't reuse them for Ghost.
