No autoplay

Well i lost my autoplyay function and cant get it to autoplay anything.........
wont give me the option to choose how i want to run a program..
but
I read everything in these forums and did everything as well and it still wont work.
all the service admin tools set to suto and nothing still seems to work

well i got this same reg fix from a thread on this site before and it didnt work for me at all any other ideas please?

Run the above .reg entry logged in as administrator, not common user. Then if you rightclick your drive icon and pick "properties" you'll find (under XP) an autoplay tab, pick in there some desired action to perform (instead of "no action").

well everything is set as default on the properties that is all normal but how do i do this registry thing as the administrator?

does it make a difference?
