Nero Burning Two Disc @ Once?

Is it possible to burn two cds at the same time using nero:rolleyes:
i have a lite on 40x12x48 and a lite on 24x10x40
1800 xp
256 ddr
80 gig ibm
asus a7v33
i know both drives have to be set at the same speed but i dont
know what to do next:D
because in nero you can select multiple recorders but what
do you do next?
can any one help meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

check out the 'burn' tab. nero (at least the non-retail version, i think) supports a maximum of 2 writers now

DO you mean simultaneous writing of identical content, or just simultaneous writing of different content to each drive? I regularly run three different drives simultaneously (Yammy CRW-F1, Plexy 40-12-40, and Litey 40-12-48) to write different, or identical, content to each drive. All I do is:

1) open Nero and select the first drive

2) open ANOTHER instance of Nero - it'll ask you to choose a drive again, but the one you chose first will no longer be offered to you, so you choose one of the remaining drives (in your case, it'll be the only drive left, cos you have only 2 drives on your system bus anyway).

3) obviously, if you have another drive, you repeat step 2, but this is irrelevant for you.

4) now, if you want to write the same data to both drives, simply use one of the Nero windows to create your project, save the project (you don't need to save an actual image - just a project reference file is adequate), and then also open the project in the other Nero window.

5) simply tell each instance of Nero to get busy burning to the drive they are 'connected' to! :D

Admittedly, this is not quite the same as TRUE simultaneous burning, like in a cCD-copying tower, using Padus Diskjuggler, but the end result is the same, so gives a damn? (and you do not have identical drives anyway).

I find that with three drives running simultaneously at 44x, 40x, and 40x (and even with DMA enabled on both EIDE buses), my P4 2.xx ghz does tend to struggle as they all approach the outer portion of the disks being written (which is where the data transfer is fastest, obviously), but BurnProof takes care of this, and I have honestly not produced any coasters running all three at the same time.

Try it! :)

Burning on the fly simultaneous with NERO can be done only with identical drives (as far as I know), but using Feurio you can burn simultaneously on the fly to different drives, also different tasks can be asigned to each drive, use search in the forum to get Feurio

It's true i use old mitsumi 4804TE and new lite-on 48125w and burn 2 lots of nero one say mp3 and the other data, for me as 4804 is old i set that to run first as liteon has buffer underun

i've tried simultaneous burning with nero several times, but the resource hogging was getting a little too high. 25% with two drives at 8x burn was a little hairy. can't imagine mixing atapi and scsi drives either.

@popkopiko: even with the lowest burn speed at 8x?
is this a hardware limitation or a nero-inspired one? i've seen someone try 2 atapis and 2 scsis, all at 8x -- the minute the first scsi coastered, everything else went south.

by the way, how's the discussion in the other Nero thread coming along? Looks like someone had a difference in opinion there.

lol - well differences of opinion are only natural - we all have different setups, and different experiences.

regarding the coasters - well yes this may be the case with older non-burnproof writers, but that's not really Nero's fault, and not what I was referring to.

I advice referred to IDE burners, and (this is very important!!) you *MUST* have DMA enabled on all relevant buses or the Processor will choke. I run a 2.xx ghz (533 fsb) P4 and I speak the truth about what I can burn simultaneously, as described in more detail above.

Jasonn PM'd me to tell me that my method had worked very well for him...

Zeus.

i'm running a 1.9G. all devices are UDMA enabled -- Win2K SP2. on primary, HD master and 40x cdrw slaved. another 40xcdrw as master and second HD slaved on secondary. no coasters for me YET, but resource usage is just my major concern. no other apps running in the background, and systray has no extra apps running either (except for the LAN indicators). hey, a jump from 12 to 25% is pretty significant for me! :)
