Nero FTP servers are in meltdown, and I've been IP address jumping manually in order to keep ahead of the pack.

The main server groups are located on ftp2.nero.com, ftp3.nero.com and ftp5.nero.com (ftp6 is only two servers, and ftp4 is only one).
ftp.nero.com draws from an entirely different server pool to the above.

For US based downloaders:

ftp.us.nero.com , ftp2.us.nero.com and ftp.us2.nero.com - look like they are on different rotations, though all from a similar pool.

If you get the IP address for one from the DNS name, just try adding 1 or 2.

Try some of those numbers directly if you can't get in!

Caution: Some people are finding that legitimate serials (assuming they haven't been passing them around!) are coming up as unregistered.

Another reaon to beware:
6.6.0.1 - Nero's 0.0 and 0.1's have NOT been models of perfection - although this is is probably no more deserving of the 6.6 version number jump than 6.3 was (does somebody else have a 6.5 that they're doing a versionitis one-upmanship on?)
