Nero 5.5.9.0 Install Problem

I went to update Nero and recieved an intresting error.

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

MSVCRT.DLL for Win32

Error: MSVCRT.DLL is not compatible with Win32s.

The files extract successfully (in temp file) but do not install. Any thoughts?

Additional info:
OS: Win2k SP2
MSVCRT Version: 6.1.9359.0
I also tried to install the old version (5.5.8.2) and also recieved the same error.

I had the same problem,so i deleted the temp folder and deleted nero 5590, ( reboot) and went to neros sight and downloaded nero 5590 again ,and i was able to install it successfully.
The first copy i had, i downloaded it before it was officially posted
at neros sight ,??? hhhmmmm!( I use win me)

I tried your idea memory, but no luck. I am really lost. I managed to extract all of the files and the setup program won't run (gives me the error). Could this be a problem on Ahead's side? (One thing I noticed is that their stated download file size is diffrent from the actual by ~294.197KB)? Now all of my newer ahead installs dont work (except 5.5.6.4).

I also use Win2K, SP2 and the installation went without a problem.

This is a runtime library file. Do you have C+ (or another) writing application installed on your system? Pls supply details of any "strange" appz. you have installed.

M$ have posted this re C++. They state it only occurs in 95/98/NT4 but it could be related....

Thanks for the help, but the problem appears to have gotten worse (other programs wont install and my add/remove control panel is corrupt [which may be related or not]). I will try a In-Place Update in a few days (need to find my key) which should restore everything back to normal (after I reapply all my old hotfixes).

Missing msvcrt.dll

Maybe another program has overwritten the original file. Not nice but some do, mostly older programs. However look here h**p://alltheweb.com/search?cat=ftp&ftype=4&query=MSVCRT.DLL+&Search=Find+file for another msvcrt.dll file. Here are h**p//w*w.webattack.com/help/missingfiles.html more files to get, you can also use the searchbox on the bottom of the page. Hopes that this will solve youre problems.
