Nero 5.5.7.2

Nero 5.5.7.2 & IAA

I've had this installed on XP for a while now but I only just encountered a problem . . .

I can't write compilation CDRs properly . . . to be exact i cant burn to CDR's when the source data is on hard drive.

Just as the burn process begins i get an burn failure error message.

Just wondered if anyone else encountered the problem and if theres a way to solve it, I beginning to wonder if i should have stuck with 5.5.5.6 which seemed more reliable than these updates

Thats a little odd because the version of nero i am using is supplied with my yamaha drive, so its registered under yamaha. I just updated the old (supplied) version to 5.5.5.6 then 5.5.7.2.

Strange it should be black listed.

Well i did install Intel's Application Accelerator, ATA100 drivers but that was quite a while back - but i believe it was installed before upgrading to 5.5.7.2 - I think

DOH - i can check the restore points to find out.

Update -

Yup it was installed before upgrading to 5.5.7.2 and I know this problem *didn't* exist while using 5.5.5.6

so im baffled. anyways i'm going back to 5.5.5.6 - good old xp with system restore points.

Well even though im still unsure what the exact nature of the problem was when i had installed IAA, it has only affected nero, but only after i updated my version, because i was still able to burn compilation cdrs with DJ before reverting back to a previous version of nero.

I would hardly class IAA as immature, it has been proven to improve performance, and i can see the improvements on my own computer.

I tried using nero 5.5.7.2 with IAA today with my PC at work - it worked fine.

I agree sometimes these busmastering drivers cuase more problems than whats it worth. Though this failure probably isnt related to the use of IAA, because firstly my yamaha drive is scsi not IDE, and secondly I believe it may be more related to the fact that i have overclocked my processor (and bus slightly).

Thanks for your suggestions anyway.
