Nero 5.5.7.2 won't recognise HP drive

Recent versions of Nero (after 5556) won't recognise my HP 8200e USB. Earlier versions worked fine. All that shows on supported recorders is the Virtual Recorder. I have the latest drivers from HP.

Any ideas?

I don't think it's necessary to have the latest version of nero unless you specifically want to use a function that was not available before i.e DVD writing or whatever.

I would choose a version and more or less stick with it. I use 5.5.3.0 and it works like a charm. As long as your writer is supported by it stick with it.

You are right of course, Rooster. I am a bit concerned though that when a brand new version (6?) of what I regard as the best cd writing software comes out that it might not recognise my writer.

I can see your point of view. Hopefully all the problems with later versions of nero 5.5 will be solved by then.

As regards nero 6.0 I saw on cdr zone that there are rumours that feurio will be discontinued and intergrated in to nero. I don't know if anyone else as more news on this, as to my mind this is the best audio recording software there is and it would be a great shame to lose it.

Obviously it would be of benefit to nero, I just hope it would not be compromised by being intergrated.

You are right, nero does have some ground to recover to applications like VOB and the steinberg programs like wavelab give options that nero just cannot compete with.

Obviously the future months will be very interesting to see new padus, vob and nero releases.

it won't be a surprise if version 6 has Feurio and CloneCD embedded
this would be the death for the other companies like VOB, Padus, roxio...

Will we really like this....i don´t think so
