Nero 5.5.7.2 on Win 2K

HAd this problem 4 some times now... I have a full install of NEro, cracked and all plugins installed, but since i have the virtual cd-rom installed, I cannot locate the burndriv on the system. I've tried with the new .dll, but it didn't solve the problem...

Thanxx 4 the tip, but it didn't solve the problem... Have an external HP cd-writer plus 7500, parallell port connected...

Still not workin'

Well, I've tried to set the port to bi-directional, but nothin' changes... Still finds only the virtual device. Tried on a second computer now, the same result, even after installing the last dll. But fireburner works just fine. However it doesn't support as many formats as nero. The problems lies in getting the different movie-formats on disc. Is it possible to save an avi as bin-file with cue-sheet and import to fireburner otherwise? Using i.e. WinISO?

NERO 5.5.7.2 ground my W2K system to a halt. I tried it twice (install my original cd, upgrade, try test burn) and each time it froze my machine part way through the burn.

So I uninstalled again, installed the original copy and then upgraded to 5.5.6.4 and everything is working fine.

I think there are serious problems with 5.5.7.2.

Few people reported about problems on 5572,but i did try that version,burned few cds,hgavent had probs!!Guess i was lucky,a:)

I've run into alot of these problems you have. I load about 2to 4 machines a day with custom software loads. I have found that if I load certon software before others that there is paoblems of this type. as a general rule my self winoncd clonecd then nero.It 's the aspi layor you have to watchout for.

Well, no need wasting more time on Nero...

I've found an alternative that worked just as fine; Roxios CE-Quadrat v. 5. Although most dialogs are in german, the prog is in english and works just fine on my win2k boxes... So, Nero can wait until it is more compatible again...

This progy is WinonCD. I have run 3.8 version for years very stable but the 5.0 has a few problems I'm still trying to get a handel on. It's just to unstable in 2K or XP and I like my 2K PRO

Guy is right!!Wanna use winoncd,go with 3.8(or even earlier versions),couse version5 is crap(my opinion):D :cool: :)

I was watching a program the other night on discovery channel while I was working at the bench so I wasn't realy focused on it.
But the program was on how the made the marietime clock more accuret. At one piont in the show the were reviewing the staps the took and found the instead of correcting the mistacks in the contruction of the gears that they just added another layer machanecal devices to compensate for that misstake.My piont is it seems there is alot of software componies doig the same thing out there {sorry about spelling I'm the worst}
