NEED Help fully converting .OGM to .AVI

Used Virtualdub to convert the OGM to AVI but i cant seem to take the audio over aswell in this program. So i do have a very nice looking Avi now but with no sound.
So do i have to take the Ogg Vorbis codec out of the original .OGM file and convert that to mp3 then merge them back into an avi with sound? As you can see i'm a bit lost on the audio part. Dont have much experiance in video conversions. Please point me in the right direction on what needs to be done next and what freeware i can pull it off with. Any help would be highly appriciated! THANKS

Hey chickenman, Thanks but.. i am using virtualdubMOD 1.5.10.1. Sorry i did not include the intire name in my first post. :(

IT worked very well and easly made the video AVI file, but it didnt take the sound with it. The way i did it was i clicked FILE then SAVE AS... It then asks me what type of compression i would like to use, i choose AVI then put in my bitrate and size settings. It then takes a few mins and shows me a converion ratio bar, it then ends and i have a nice video file with no sound. am i in the right direction? Any ideas?

Thanks!

do u have all the necessary codecs n stuff present?
afaik u can't convert an ogm with ogg audio 2 avi+ogg

So how would i take the ogg out of the ogm file then convert the ogg to mp3 and sync it with my deff avi? Or would you know a cleaner, better way of doing this?

try demuxing the audio stream with virtualdubmod or save it as a wave...then use besweet 2 convert it 2 the format of ur choice ;)

Celtic,

Got it! My process was opening the ogm in Virtualdubmod, Then clicking streams list in the Streams tab. Click Demux then using FreeRip convert the .ogg to .mp3. Then going back to Virtualdubmod and click on the ogg stream and click disable, I then click ADD and select the new .mp3 file i created. Then click File/Save as.. and set save file type as Avi. Then go down to the video menu and click change, choose Divx or whatever you please, choose your bitrate peramiters to your liking, click save and wait while it converts. my outcome on 2 diffrent projects are flawless. Hope this helps anyone out there! :)

Best Regards
