Need a hand

I am not very good at ripping and conversions.
Search the forum but dindt find the answer.
The question is: I downloaded a video in wmv format.
I wanted to rip the audio and I captured it from the sound card.
I´d like to convert it to avi and I have tried everything aound to no avail. ASFtools, Graphedit......

I think it is compressed with wmv2 codec.

Any ideas??

Load into an early version of VirtualDUB, ver 1.3c as it can handle ASF and WMV files, set Video compression to DivX and set data bitrate, then set Audio compression to MP3 and set bitrate. Finally save AVI.

I am sorry for disturbing you again, Chickenman.
I dled Virtualdub 1.3c and tried to open the file but got an error
window (attached).

As the name of the file is : Van Halen - US Festival 1983 full concert by California Jack (rename with WMV extension to make it work).asf ||||| I tried opening the file changing the extension, but it didnt work

I dont know whats wrong and how to find that wmv2 decompressor.

Asftools will convert your WMV2 to MP43 (similar to DivX) but you must have "Windows Media Encoder" installed. I'm sure you can download it from Miscosofts site.
