If you want to distroy your system go ahead and use that peace of garbage.

Kasperski? good one!but it's slow.
for me....
PC-Cillin 2002 and Panda Antivirus Titanium v2.04.02
Clean,Fast and Dependable!

I like Kaspersky, F-Secure, and Dr. Web, but I'm trying out Norman Antivirus right now and is pretty flawless also.

Hi,

Anyone know something about these ones ?:
- Vexira Antivirus
- AVK (AntiVirenKit) from G-data

Crap or real good antivirus ?

(since AVP v4.0 which caused me more problem, i'm looking for another good antivirus other than F-secure and F-Prot 3.12 (update fonction seem don't work for me, also with the fix).

Thanks for your comment.

I'm using Solo anti-virus at present. Seems to be far less of a resource hog than some of the mainstream anti-virus programs such as Norton.

F-secure is on of the best AV apps available. Unfortunately some alerts are false because of the programs ability to find unknown viruses. IMO I prefer to get dozens of false alarms rather than one missed real alert.

Finally I recommend you to check your system. The apps used for additional scan are all Trojan scanners except for AVG. A trojan scanner don´t look for virus.

The fact that AVG reported the file clean and F-Secure not doesn´t change a thing. If the decision was mine I would trust F-Secure. To be sure you have to send the file to eg. F-Secure support for a closer investigation or at least rescan with a couple of other AV apps...one isn´t enough.

I'm using F-Secure on my main Internet computer. However, I had to move back to version 5.31 as newer versions seem to conflict with something in my system...something to think about chickenhq and joripe. ;) Nevertheless, it is a fantastic proggie that has yet to let a single virus in.

My second computer uses Avast32...excellent and free! Nuff said!

avast32 actually doesn't work properly on a manual scan after finding the first infected file it just quits, i had to kill the infected files one by one!!!
also the real time scanner does not detected ANY of the infected test files i have when i decompressed them to a folder!!!
this is very bad for an antivirus!!!

If you check virus bulletin you will find the best 3:

Nod32 with a rate àf 84%
NAV with a rate of 64%
Norman with a rate of 55%

The rate is based on all the results made by Virus Bulletin.
All other antivirus programs are below 50%.

Personnaly I use the first two.
