MPEG2 file too large

I have successfully converted several avis to DVD using Chickenmans tutorial. This time my MPEG2 file exceeds the 4.3GB required for DVD5 as pointed out to me by TMPGEnc DVDauthor. Could anyone please advise me how to make it smaller? Do I use DVDshrink?

Suggest using TMPGEnc DVD Author and allow it to create your DVD to whatever size that TMPGEnc DVD Author suggest.

After TMPGEnc DVD Author is finished use either CloneDVD2 (http://www.elby.ch/products/clone_dvd/download.html) or DVD2one (http://www.dvd2one.com/trial.php) to shrink your DVD files to the correct size. Either one of these products does an excellent job of compressing/shrinking DVD file to DVD5 size without much loss of quality.

Could also try ReJig before you author.
