Tag information embedded within MP3 files usually contains info such as artist, song title, album, year, etc.
Rather than opening each file individually and manually changing the tag, an MP3 tagger converts them on a block basis. This saves a lot of typing and time. If you have many MP3's and want to have a "standard" type of tag this tool is invaluable.
The 2 most common taggers are Tag + Rename and Helium2 (both available on the main site). My personal choice is Helium but both products are excellent - give them a go and pick a favourite.
