mp3 player wont play mp3's

i had a thought the drive i used to write the disc that would not play in the mp3 player was an old yamaha 4416s using nero 55.10.7 and the brand disc i used was a - sky cd-r74 as used in the u.k i have no idea if they are any good or wether maybe the drive isnt writing good enough doubtfull but im not sure i bought the yamaha used from ebay recently cheaply so was thinking
could it be how the drive writes older standard or something
im trying to narrow everything down as possible i dont know much about the yamaha only that its three years old

hmmmmm im in the uk also Fender i would recommend finding somewhere that sells bulk DATASAFE branded disks (many of us here in the uk use these!) for about 15-20p each (i buy 100 at a time its cheaper and with plastic sleeves) , im guessing that you bought the sky disks from a local cheap store thats all over the uk (poundland) usually as this is the ONLY place in the uk that i have seen selling 74 min cds in the SKY branded flavour not many places if any sell 74 min cds there is no point as 80 min cds are ultra cheap and most audio cds come as 80 minute disks now anyhow :)

here's something on the yamaha 4416s drive i tried easy cd creator 3.5 old i know with an 80min multitech disc i got this error
twice - D0100: I/O error (03/02/00) - CD recorder error - cannot seek to the requested location
D0100: I/O error (03/02/00) - CD recorder error - cannot seek to the requested location --------- i wonder what it is

hmmmm putting the error "CD recorder error - cannot seek to the requested location
D0100: I/O error" into googles search bar it brings up may sites with various suggestions from changing windows cache settings(many sites dont advise this if the burner was working fine already) to the lazer is out of alignment or needs cleaning !? i suggest you past it to google too and read the various articles or better still email "YAMAHA" to ask them personally im sure there will be someone there that can advise or point you in the right direction !?

i have after much experimenting that drive yamaha 4416s did not like the brand i was using i tried another unbranded media that are all white with no branding worked then i looked by chance
at the undersides of the disc one was all siver the other slight silver blueish the latter worked and they were 80 min i mad a sucessful multisession disc that worked in my mp3 player perfectly
so it was not the mp3's themselves but the media that would not work in the mp3 player me thinks my advise to anyone who reads this is dont buy old used drives save and buy a new one you really dont want the grief believe me !
