mp3 player wont play mp3's

i made a disc with a load of mp3's on it but when i went to play it in my mp3 palyer i did not even see the disc all my other mp3 discs play fine in it the discs i made are open session so i can add more tracks when i like, i used nero to make the discs the disc
has the tracks on it as i can see them on my pc so what could it be would id tag have any bearing on ie id3 or 2

are they the same bitrate !? as the working ones ?!

maby its the make or brand of the disks you are using have u changed disk brand/make !?!

check out a working disk in you pc and check how the disks are laid out and the directory structure :)

also check the filenames as there may be illegal unsupported characters that may cause it to fail !?

read the manual and check and see regarding the id tag :)
or search google for information on it :)

maby "fender62" supposed to mean MULTI SESSION disks scarecrow !? :)

if not "fender62" try writing the disk as a MULTI SESSION leaving the disk open in nero (un tick the close cd box) burn as a multisession and try it in the player :)

ok if what you say is true i have a few discs that have mp3's on the and when i find something i like i put new track on the disc
and it plays when i find other tracks i like i put them on the same disc it plays i can add when i like and it plays until the disc is full
o what am i doing wrong then thats an open disc is'nt it im am new to this so please correct me if im wrong the disc i mention is open session if i can add more songs without closing the disc it plays unclosed

i think terminology is muddled here what you discribe is OPEN session the disk is not closed each time you add new files so cannot be read in any other device usually other than a BURNER/CD WRITER

A multi session disk is closed after each writing session until the disk is full and no more data can be added :)

Is this what you are telling us !?

try looking at a disk that does work fully in your computer explore the disks contents and layout how the files and folders are arranged on the disk and make a note of this to use as reference when making your next disk :)

also check using winamp or other windows mp3 player as to what tag is used either ID3 or ID2 as this may or maynot make a difference to the disk !?

At the same time check the files for length in characters (make a note of this too) and if there are any symbol characters in the name such as .. ()"£$%^&*._-=# or other !? this may affect the abiltity to play also as some players do not support those characters and often are limited to file length of name some only 8 characters :(

write the disk as a multi session using NERO or any multi session capable burner that supports burnign of MP3'S :)

come back here and let us know your results :)

i understand now terminology the disk was done as multisession
ill check characters like you mention i think tags were id 3 i used dr.tag to make them all id 3 as some were id 2 and some were three i thought id have them all the same kind og of tag but obviously not the same song name i didnt know some mp3's players only will paly songs of no more than eight characters
so really you dont want to have the band name and song title

it may take some experimentation with the layout of the disk like i said check the structure of a full disk that works fully and try copy the same sort of layout when you make your next disk :)

also check that all the mp3s are of the same bitrate check in winamp what the bitrate is as some players do not support lower than 128bit mp3's :(

thanks for you help i have also noticed i i select to play random tracks on the mp3 player it will after a while play the same random tracks over and not different ones i have to forward the disc what could that be bit rate problem odd

getting closer to an answer here make a note of a couple of tracks that you know play and there bitrate and recheck in winamp for the bitrate :)

they all play in winap 64 bit is the lowest ize: 1246231 bytes
Header found at: 2048 bytes
Length: 155 seconds
MPEG 2.0 layer 3
64kbit, 5981 frames
22050Hz Joint Stereo
CRCs: No
Copyrighted: No
Original: Yes
Emphasis: None
------------------------ another says
Length: 146 seconds
MPEG 1.0 layer 3
112kbit, 5634 frames
44100Hz Stereo
------------------------------
ize: 1688119 bytes
Header found at: 2048 bytes
Length: 168 seconds
MPEG 2.0 layer 3
80kbit, 6460 frames
22050Hz Joint Stereo

thats just some

yeah winamp will play all bitrates unfortunatly some mp3 players tend to like 128bit and above as this is classed as resonable cd quality type bitrate its acceptable as something at least sounding good quality :)

you may find these lower 64bit mp3s are the ones failing to play !?

is your player capable of playing re writable cds !? (CDRW) then you can experiment over and over without wasting disks :) you can test this theory until you get it right :)

yes it does play cdrw discs good idea i will experiment like you say
it may not like 64bit mp3's i shall find out and will post conclusion
thanks again

easiest i would say is name the tracks as follows then burn them :)

thisis128bit

thisis64bit

thisis160bit

and make sure each mp3 is the corresponding bitrate and see which plays and which does not :)

also look at the structure of the workin disk again and see if the mp3s are in folders or just on the disk with no folders ?!

test this too untill you find a suitable working combination :)

then go for the real burn on a normal cdr and see if that works :)

I always tend to test things like new software and different copy protections of stuff on CDRW disks as this saves on wasting disks all the time :)

i did what you advised and have found it isnt the mp3's them self
as i wrote all the same songs to a cdrw disk multisession and put that in the mp3 player and it worked saying that i wrote the cdrw
on a different writer as the other writer wont write to the purticular cdrw disc so im wondering was the orignal disc i wrote that would not run in the mp3 player was it burnt enough for player to be able to pick up what is on the disc as i can see whats on the cd with my pc or could it be the brand of disc
