complete b?@**&t i put a made up # in and it gave the same location as you guys so its bullcrap !

it IS POSSIBLE if demanded by the police or other governing body who whishes to find you and your phone to find it to within 1 meter squared or basically to you in your socks and shoes by triangulation of just 3 transmitters and calculating the time taken from each to your phone and back without you even knowing its happening

so be warned !

@VIPER the police etc can locate you if they want to the company I work for do this off the record to monitor the useage within in a cell/range/black spot but cant use the info against you.

@ rasta i just get this funny feeling that they may be harvesting mobile numbers to sell on to text message advertising !? there was a scam a while back for free SMS messaging from the web but was also collecting the numbers to spam out mass advertising

!? fortunatly they got busted and closed down !!!

or perhaps me just being over-cautious with my number

You don't have to worry about your phone # VIPER. It was a legit site. When they first started up they were doing locations without consent of phone users. Then they got smart (or got their asses in trouble) and had to make the phone user agreement.

I been getting a lot of them 2 on me pay as u go vodafone.I never give the number out unless it friends or family.I had 2 call them b4 about this as they seem 2 put Ur number in a directory at regular intervals.Got 1 this morning tellin me i had won a 3 day break at disney or euro disney, just txtx back at £1.50 a txt.What makes this all the more annoyin is they have just doubled the smartstep charge from 5p amin after first 3mins 2 10p amin.I know they wasted a lot of money on the 3G licences, but surely dat danot give them the right 2 screw the loyal customers.It was me main mobile, but i think i be changin the sim 2, no way im payin that

& here's me thinking they were using it 4 dodgy purposes.Any 1 remember that Eurpoe was gonna have an investigation in 2 unsound buisiness practices.If i recall the US was using it 2 listen in 2 rivals during contract deals & then jumpin in with a lower bid

without gettin into tech details here they even listen to our landline calls 24/7 for specific KEYWORDS and they have goverment ruling that allows this ! and this has gone on for YEARS believe it or not

Yep heard that one 2.For security reasons so they say.Been trying 2 rem the name of the place with the big golf balls.Is it Porten Down or something.Me & 1 of me m8 always do that when we call each other, use some of the Keywords just 2 keep them on their toes.I know some might think this is wrong, but hey they the ones listening in 2 private conversation.Plus i would'nt want 2 put them out of a job
