maximum clock??..

i used aida32 to look at my cpu....i was wondering for the maximum clock it said 800mhz....so does that mean that it is capable of getting 800mhz with everything running fine??..if i overclocked everything correctly that is....

external clock 100mhz
maximum clock 800mhz
current clock 650mhz

Would this be an AMD Duron or Atlon 650 ?

It may be that the process design maximum is 800 MHz, but the actual unit is downgraded to 650 because:
1. It failed tests at higher, or the batch did
2. They sold more 650's than higher

Other than some often well known "good overclockers", it's neber certain, and even then, can never be guaranteed 100% safe.
