m1-edit

having trouble with a vcd not playing on my stand alone dvd, after reading around chichen advised using m1-edit or m2-edit where is this located in which program as i need to try repacket sizing the .dat files. Also anyone know a good tool for cutting and joining

tnx l8r

Unfortunately all my know links to M1 or M2-Edit have dried up.

By the way, use M1-Edit on the MPG files to repacketize, not the DAT files.

TMPGEnc would have to be the easyiest and simplest program to use to cut and/or join MPG files. Get from w*w.tmpgenc.net

Others editors that can be used are iFilmEdit or Wombles MPEG2VCR v3.x

I've found m2-edit pro at the following addy, please be aware of pop ups :)

.........................

Works in Win2k and the repacksizing is called Transpose in this version.

Cheers

repacketizing will make the file smaller?
Yes, I have found all TMPGEnc created files need to be re-packetized and after M1-edit they are a bit smaller in byte size but naturally the same length time wise.

Thank God a good buddy got me a copy of M-1 Edit, it works great and helps me make a better quality movie. Will M2 Edit still do VCDs or is it only for SVCD files?

Yes M2-Edit will do everything M1-Edit will do plus SVCD. I still use M1-Edit as its simpler, quicker and easier to use than M2-Edit. But for those that dont have or cant find M1-Edit, then narturally M2-Edit will work fine.

I have found SVCD's do not need repacketizing, TMPGEnc seems to get them right.
