LVD-2001 0301Beta Firmware Released

Yep... it's out and I'm trying it later. According to a couple of other sites (since Liteon's release notes are worthless):

* Support for DIVX 3
* Support for OGG
* Support for Subtitles (.SRT)
* Support for Subfolders (.MP3)

It's a beta and it looks like there are some freeze problems, particularly with VBR MP3's. Anyone download it yet?

Well, so far I can tell you that the secret menu still operates under this firmware, and a DIVX 3.11 movie I have that refused to play under the previous FW now plays like a champ!

Well, I had a chance to bang on this firmware pretty hard over the weekend, and my recommendation at this point is that it is stable enough to use. And it does indeed fix the DIVX 3.11 issue.

At this point, I don't think there is a single player on the market with more bang for the buck than the LVD-2001.
