hi all i been burning Svcd's to 2 cdr's for a long time bought a dvd burner when they 1st came out and really havent ever figured it out

i got a sanyo dvd player and a apex (apex plays everything ) sanyo suppose to play Dvd + r compared to the details on the net

well ive followed many tutorials here and like the one using dvdlab

i did everything and compiled the movie just fine plays good on my apex and computer but it still dont play in my sanyo think bc its a Svcd any way to change this file to be a Real dvd + R type of vob file? so that all dvd players will play it?

i use it quite a lot for SVCD to DVD and it works great i dont see no reason for it not to work burning to +R media :)

i have alrdy sucesfully burnt a movie using dvdlab a few times my problem is my dvd player the sanyo doesnt play it its in black and white now i read something from chicken man about copying a file off a dvd VTS_01.1.IFO but i have loaded 7 real dvd's and theres only a VTS_01.1.VOB file on the movies

what i want is too convert this Svcd movie into a Real dvd movie that should play on all new dvd players not just Apex and a select few

id be glady happy to donate some one $$ with pay pal if they had a solution for me have bought 2 dvs burners 1 for my pc and 1 for laptop to only burn Cd r's on it and just a few black and white dvd's

black and white tells me its either NTSC on PAL or PAL on NTSC does your DVD player switch between the two modes auto or do you have a manual switching on the remote to change between the two !?

the movie i burnt as a dvd and turned out black n whit ei loaded it in Win Dvd plays fine but i go to set up its in NTSC load it into sanyo its black n white pretty sure that dvd player only plays NTSC movie so i dont think thats the problem but im not sure

You need the VTS_01_0.IFO file, not VTS_01_1.IFO

Playback in black & white is 99.9% an NTSC/PAL issue. Your DVD Player may be able to handle them but your TV may not.

you guys were right all the svcds i got are in pal format i got a program called neodvd plus 5 and its just like dvdlab but you can swtich from pal to ntsc



thanks guys for the help and leading me to fix my problem

neo dvd is not as good as dvd lab for features and menu creation i found neo very limited and the quality of end product degraded quite a lot :(

but if it works fine for you then thats great :)

new dvd players that play both pal and ntsc and are switchable between are pretty cheap anyhow that would save a lot of time converting :)
